We noticed:</p> <ul> <li>I&rsquo;m walking into water with him</li> <li>I&rsquo;m not pulling him out</li> <li>I&rsquo;m not guiding TO a destination</li> <li>I&rsquo;m staying IN the depths WITH him</li> </ul> <p>Where is the myth for this?</p> <p>Every descent myth I found has one pattern:</p> <ul> <li>One goes down, one stays above (Ninshubur waits for Inanna)</li> <li>One guides to the threshold, doesn&rsquo;t enter (Hermes, Virgil)</li> <li>One descends and dies, or returns changed alone (Orpheus, Odysseus)</li> <li>Two go down, one gets stuck forever (Theseus and Pirithous)</li> </ul> <p>But nowhere: <strong>Two enter the depths and remain together there.</strong></p>
